Today in class

1. We created a custom brush that was used to trace the hand drawn feathers from your sketchbook.
2. We colored the feathers using the blob brush tool.

Homework
1. Go to the https://bridgegood.com/inspire web site and read more about the contest and maybe upload a picture to your portfolio page, be ready to talk about the project.

2. On Thursday:
a. You will have time to finish your feathers
b. We will critique the "How to" Infographic 
c. I will cover the process for the "Inspire Oakland" project

In the past, these funds have been used to fund tutoring for students, upgrade computer labs, develop new programs such as Sport Medicine and Alternative Energy, and purchase such state-of-the-art equipment as a digital X-ray unit for the Dental Programs. We need your help to make sure that DVC continues to receive the money we need to keep our programs up-to-date! 

3.      The information you provide will be treated with strict confidentiality! Your Student ID number is required for enrollment verification only; the survey is useless without your student ID number.

4.      Please complete ONE survey EVERY semester that you are enrolled at DVC, if you have completed a survey in another course this semester, there is no need to do so again.

Feather Drawing Project

Great Job everyone...!

Homework

1. Go to the tabs labeled "color" and "Mesh tool" and have a look at the information for Thursday.

2. Homework drawing project

a. In your Sketchbook, on one page, in Red/Blue pencil, draw 3 rows of 6 different kinds of feathers, for a total of 18 feathers.
b. Neatness counts so make sure the feathers face the same direction.
c. No sketchy lines
d. Goal is to simplify the feather as shown in class.
e. Due at the start of the next class.

2/13 Homework

1. In your sketchbook, in pencil, draw two different variations of your Info Graphic experimenting with different layout styles.
2. Each one should fill a single page.
3. No coloring or inking

Hi everyone,
Great job today with your bugs!

Homework:
1. Go to the "Drawing Tools" tab on the top of the blog and follow the directions. Drawings are due when you walk into class on Tuesday.
2. Go to the "Text Tools" tab at the top of the blog and watch the first 3 videos, they go quick.

3. If you need an extra place to work I have a Saturday class in the same room, if you want to have some extra lab time you are welcome to come in, I'm in from 9-3:30 every Saturday.

BONUS event that's open to all.... 

An optional drawing event happening this weekend at the east bay comic con, its a one day event happening this Sunday. Bring your sketchbook, and pencils as we draw the attendees. I will there from 11-1, you will see me in the main lobby drawing people, come on by and draw with me. Here is a link to the event.
