10/21 Homework

Homework:
1. Go to the top of the blog and select the tab "Zine" it contains an overview of the big project that is in fact your final project. Read the information and watch the videos. I will bring in examples of zines from past classes and we will have a reading party on Tuesday. For Tuesday I only want you to have a couple of possible subjects in mind.

2. Definition of zine
:magazine; especially :a noncommercial often homemade or online publication usually devoted to specialized and often unconventional subject matter. The main difference between a magazine and a zine is that zines are not out there to make a profit but, rather, to add other, often unheard voices into the mix. Zines are usually made out of interest and passion and are often self-published by the writer/artist/creator. Topics ranging from comics, to radical politics, stories for children, personal zines, literary reviews, they can even talk about teapot collections.

3.  On a single page in your sketchbook, using pen only, draw evenly spaced circles. Use even pressure in a continuous line, NO SKETCHING, each one should be the size of a ping pong or golf ball. You should be able to fit 24 evenly drawn and spaced circles on the page. do not let them touch. This is an exercise to help you work on line quality.
