Making Patterns

*Before beginning, as posted on September 29, make sure you have looked over the instructions.

If you are using the Illustrator Quick Start Guide, read: 135-142

If you are using the Illustrator Reference Guide in scratch, read: 217-221

*We will begin patterns on Tuesday the 11th. 

*Before beginning to make patterns do the following:

1. Scan each of the inked, themed homework drawing projects at 72 dpi. for simple drawings and 150 dpi. for complex ones. do not add color.

Drawing topics include:

Cats #6

Birds #6

Bugs #6

Kitchen Tools #12

Stick Figure Fruit creatures #3

2. Create one ai. file for each theme. In them should be the vectorized, cleaned up drawings. Since we had 6 topics, you should have 6 ai. files, please label them according to theme.

 

3. in class we will watch the video shown below.

4. Lets make patterns.

9/22 Homework

      In your sketchbook draw 6 different types of cats, big, small, wild, fluffy, use pencil to design, add ink, neatness counts. Try drawing the cats in three rows with two cats in each row, spread out evenly across the page. Keep the designs simple. We will look at them on Tuesday.

*Since you are drawing an animal, here is a drawing tip that may help your approach to design. It's a 4 step process.

9/20 Homework

Please ink the versions of the 3 Pigs and the wolf that you have chosen for the project. On Thursday, you can scan in the inked characters. Make sure to watch the video in the previous post before the next class.
